“But Why Mommy”

If I hear “but why Mommy” one more time today and I will go crazy!  Everything out of the 2 year old mouth is this question.  Over and over again…I can’t take it.  It doesn’t matter how many explanations I give.
How do you deal with this?  Help is appreciated.  Thanks.

2nd Day of Preschool

No tears today!!!  This is my sons 2nd day of preschool.  Last week he went on Tueday and there was a field trip on Thursday but we didn’t go.  Today there were no tears, no “Mommy stay”.  Just “I’ll be okay.  Bye Mommy”.  There was even a liitle boy screaming and crying when we can [...]

First Day of Preschool

Today was my toddlers first day of preschool.  I had second thoughts about enrolling my 2.5 year old in preschool this morning and questioning if I was doing the right thing.  He seems ready.  He loves to play with other children, sing songs, practice his letters and sounds.  I worry he gets bored with me [...]

Stuttering Update

Update…the stuttering is much better now.  Our son still stutters when he is tired or stressed but it has improved a lot.  The other day he was struggling to get a word out when he turned and said to me, “Mommy, I can’t talk.”  It’s broke my heart.  I said, “to just talk slow.” He [...]

When You Don’t Like Your Child’s Teacher

You’re hoping, praying and crossing your fingers that your child gets Mrs. Smith for 2nd grade.  You’ve heard so many wonderful things about her and you just know that is the best teacher for your child.

However the notice comes home that next year your child is assigned to Mr. Jones’ class.  Ugh!  That’s not what [...]

To Sign or Not to Sign, that is the question……

When our son was 10 months old we enrolled in Baby Signs.  He was a big boy and I was worried about his communication ability.  No reason I just thought he should have backup if he was speech delayed.  I didn’t want it to become a problem so I decided Baby Signs was a good idea.  We [...]

Cutie!

It’s triple degrees today so there will no outside time today, which is very disappointing for my son.  Maybe some water play after the  backyard is in shade!

Stuttering Two Year Old

My 2 year old just started stuttering.  Out of no where he stumbles over words…mommy, baby, daddy, good….all are a struggle for him now.  Up until this point he had a good vocabulary with a clear speaking voice.  Of course as parents, my husband and I want to over-react and have him evaluated.  I’ve done [...]

Bedtime Routine to Give your Kids a Chance to Tell you About their School Day

“Ok, it’s time to start getting ready for bed.  After your bath, brush your teeth and get your pajamas on.  It’s getting late.”

If you have a bedtime routine, pat yourself on the back.  Bedtime routines are so vital, especially for young children.  Consider adding one more step to your bedtime routine.  Give your kids a [...]
